    About FOA (Friends of Artisans)

Friends of Artisans is a simply an idea generated out of the mind of the company’s owner and his team. As the name itself defines the meaning of the association, the company and its owners wants to develop such an ideal and friendly work environment wherein the artisans feel valued, important and satisfied with their jobs.
Here in FOA the artisans and individuals having the and skills will definitely be valued and cherished, at the same time, the individuals who want to learn and work with us will get some training from the experienced ones, and will be given the chance to work with us.

We started this small business with a big heart and grand vision. Here the owner wants to make a difference in the lives of the artisans at the very grass root level. We look for workers/ artisans in the very rural areas of the state and we try to find that wow factor in their work, we then work with them, so that they don’t have to leave behind their families and migrate towards the cities. They can work for us from the very place of their origin, and we literally love that!

Supporting the makers, the doers, the artisans, the community, the tribe!

We also want to create a little difference in their lives by sharing a day in a month or fortnight whichever is possible with them, doing some recreational or skill development of fun activities with the artisans, their kids and their families, more than becoming the friends of Artisans are vision is to become the FAMILY for the Artisans!

We have a grand vision, and this is just a step towards our vision. The more we will work, the more we’ll unveil the opportunities, and our plans and visions!

Supporting the ARTISANS and their FAMILIES, giving them wings to FLY!

    Jaykrit’s Vision:

While travelling around the country and our neighboring countries I found out there’s immense treasure of art and artisans in the various handicrafts in the different parts of the country, who has lot of capabilities in them, but are not getting proper opportunities or facing lack of opportunities in many areas. Their works remain either unrecognized or they have to move and settle-down to cities due to lack of opportunities, and getting paid lower than what should be paid. At times I use to think about them as well as their families, children, their spouses, and a flood of thoughts keep me hitting. As in why they have to leave their houses or families behind in order to earn and give them better way of living, why their children has to wait for their parents? Why the artisans always has to compromise either with their family or work. There were many other societal and personal factors as well that motivated me to bring something new or different to the society, even if to a small section of society. Because after all a small step or a small change also can impact many lives.

Hence, the thought of developing friendly and flexible work opportunities for the talented and deserving artisans popped into my mind, and this is how the idea of FRIENDS OF ARTISANS came into existence.

I’m here starting with FRIENDS OF ARTISANS and their families with a vision of becoming a huge FAMILY OF ARTISANS!

    Jyoti’s Vision:

Being herself a woman, I can totally feel how important women empowerment and upliftment is in today’s world. Even where a woman as a wife or a daughter or being a daughter-in-law is loved and adored unconditionally, she still feels lack of her own identity in a way and tries to step out of her normal routine and do something to be identified. I also stepped out to make my own identity. Even after being well-educated I was facing issues in getting a desired job for myself. Hence the idea of getting a work while creating work opportunities for other women around popped in!

And then it flashed as why not to start a “Women for Women opportunity campaign” wherein ‘the women can work from their home in their free times alongwith taking care of their children and family’, discussed the same with my husband and we decided to start from the scratch keeping our eyes on the sky! That’s how we got another reason to fuel in our idea of launching “Friends of Artisans”….!
